They say that you can’t grow big sweet potatoes in the north. Show them these pictures. I have to send another email with more.

BEAUREGARDS—100% YELD (LAKEWOOD, NEW JERSEY) Planted July 1—-harvested 10-20-12
Just needed to say thanks for the sweet potato plants you sent me in April, they were part of a community garden start up and nobody can pass by my plots without asking what is this. I have a lot of people (from other countries) ask me for cuttings to cook with but despite the nibbling of my vines the mounds of green ( when other plots are dying from the heat) draws them in like flies. Hoping to get some pictures in a few weeks when we harvest.
Thanks you again for a great product
Just wanted to say thank you! I had a fantastic 2011 crop of Centennials, Georgia Jets, Beauregards, and Vardemans. My soil is heavy clay soil and yet the taters thrived. They are so full of flavor that one doesn’t even need butter or anything else. I literally eat them plain most of the time. Thanks for offering the great descriptions and ‘tater school’. The planting instructions are excellent especially for those of us with compacted clay soil! Look forward to doing business with you in 2012.
These are some nice taters, the big one weighs over 6 pounds. thank you for such good plants.
George & Donna It seems like every plant survived and they are beautiful, the rain came just in time to give them a boost. Our customers are already looking for fresh sweet potatoes, we are hoping to have some by middle of September. Thanks for asking about how they are doing.

After having several frustrating years of trying to get sweet potato plants sent at a reasonable time and in good condition, I found your website last year and decided to give you a try. All I can say is WOW! The plants came exactly when requested, they were healthy and every single one grew. We have a great crop of sweet potatoes and they are delicious.
Hi George this is Jim in Woodstock Illinois.
We got the tator plants in awesome condition and all 200 of them is now ready for harvest in the worsed cool to cold summer on record here. Its been an ugly summer and now the ugly winter is coming but take a look at the Georgia Jets they are UNREAL. The picture included is of one (1) tator plant you tell me if this is normal almost 6 lbs with the largest one weighing almost 2.5 lbs and the other one would have weighed the same but a gopher ate the top off. Thanks you George and God because I believe you had just as much to do with my success as I.
Thanks George for the excellent plants.
George, we kind of went over the harvest date and this is what we dug up. Its been a blast raising Tators this year and I am hoping the inmates will love them to eat.

We are always so busy this time of year, but we wanted to take time to thank you for your great sweet potato plants. The Purple Passion and Nancy Halls did great this year, despite our cool summer in northern Ohio. We have ordered from you in the past, but wanted you to know we appreciate your prompt shipping and good plants. By the way, do you have any recipes for us ” Northeners” for the Nancy Halls?
Last spring I called you after finding your website. We have grown sweet potatoes off and on with mixed success in zones 3 (34 years there) and zone 4 (three years here). However, I was disappointed. They were never arriving when promised, plants were weak, I could expect 25% loss, etc. You were courteous, promised you raised your own plants and would send on time. WOW! You are so fine. You kept your word to the letter. The plants were nice and early for our short summers here in Minnesota. They were the most generous in number, fair in price and absolutely healthy. We didn’t lose one. In spite of a cold July that I know they needed and kept the production down a bit, they were very rewarding and delicious. Here in MN I get the best results letting them dry in an outside building about two weeks and storing in our heated attached garage for many weeks as they sweeten. Now if you only could grow sweet potatoes that had vole and pocket gopher protection! Traps help a little and we don’t use poison as we are basically organic. Fine wire is not really workable with the mound system. We already use it and electric fence for rabbits, woodchucks, racoons and deer. I used the mound system with red plastic, followed past experience and your new tips and was very satisfied. We will definitely order from you next year and you may certainly use my praise for you and your product in marketing if you wish. Have a wonderful winter. Ours here is a bit long for passionate gardeners like us.
Tatorman, I ordered and received 200 Covingtons from you a couple of weeks ago and I just wanted to let you know how happy my husband and I were with the plants. My husband’s family grew sweet potatoes in the Tidewater area of Virginia for years, so he knows his plants. He was so pleased with the quality of the slips and the fact that not one perished. All of them seem to be doing very well. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we will have a great harvest. Thanks again for providing a quality product.
George and Donna, Thanks!
The plants came in the mail today and I got them all in just in time for some wonderful and much needed rains! Thanks for the prompt service! The vines are beautiful! Wish I’d have found you last April before I had ordered from someone else!
Just wanted you to know that as an old time gardener and Master gardener, and 1st time sweet potato grower, I was pleasantly surprised by the success I had here in Dallas with your Beauregard plants. I have an all organic garden, no malathion or diazinon in 25 years, used to use those, though. At planting I used some Kelp meal and chicken meal mixed with some of my compost a week before planting, then planted June 11 after harvesting beans in the same row. I sprayed compost tea weekly and added bokashi tea periodically to the 9 plants in the 15′ row. They grew and grew I harvested over 90 lbs of potatoes that have been just wonderful, sweet as can be. Thanks for your inspiration and website, I will be ordering again as soon as planting time, I will be praising your “beauregards” to my fellow Master gardeners this spring at the garden show. thanks again
